## About the role As a Senior Java Developer, you will contribute to reliable, scalable software that directly supports the quality and continuity of digital services. You will work on complex backend solutions, help shape technical decisions, and support the team in delivering resilient systems. This role combines hands-on development with senior-level collaboration, quality focus, and technical direction. reliability - Translate business requirements into technical solutions and safeguard technical quality - Improve the performance, security, and maintainability of existing applications - Collaborate with product, QA, and other developers to deliver solutions on time and with care - Review colleagues' code and coach team members on best practices - Identify technical risks and actively contribute to architectural decisions ## Requirements - At least 5 years of experience as a Java Developer or in a similar backend role - Strong knowledge of Java and common backend principles - Experience with REST APIs, data modelling, and relational databases - Familiarity with software testing, code reviews, and CI/CD practices - Good command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written - HBO- or WO-level thinking, preferably in computer science or a related field ## Nice to have - Experience with Spring Boot - Knowledge of cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP -
Experience with microservices architectures - Knowledge of containerisation with Docker or Kubernetes - Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
