## About the Role

The ideal candidate will be a practical and hands-on Mechanical Design Engineer who enjoys solving engineering challenges and developing products for real-world applications.

You will have experience with:

 * Mechanical design and product development
 * 3D CAD packages (SolidWorks preferred)
 * Fabricated steel structures
 * Sheet metal and welded assemblies
 * Design for Manufacture (DFM)
 * Production and manufacturing drawings
 * Bill of Materials (BOM) creation
 * Engineering calculations
 * Working closely with manufacturing environments

Desirable Experience

Experience within any of the following areas would be beneficial:

 * Bespoke machinery design
 * Special purpose machinery
 * Lifting equipment
 * Materials handling systems
 * Hydraulic systems
 * Structural fabrications
 * Industrial equipment design

## Description

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for developing mechanical designs from customer requirements through to finished products.

Working as part of a close-knit engineering team, you will collaborate with internal departments including Production, Purchasing, Installation and Sales to deliver practical, cost-effective designs that meet customer requirements and industry standards.

This role offers the opportunity to work across a variety of bespoke projects, giving you exposure to the full engineering lifecycle and the satisfaction of seeing your designs become fully manufactured products., * Design bespoke mechanical equipment using SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software.

 * Produce detailed manufacturing drawings, fabrication drawings and technical documentation.
 * Develop concepts from customer specifications, requirements and site information.
 * Complete engineering calculations and design checks where required.
 * Ensure designs meet relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.
 * Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are practical and efficient to produce.
 * Support product improvements, design reviews and engineering projects.
 * Assist with component selection, cost considerations and supplier discussions.
 * Provide technical support to installation and service teams when required.
