Agent guide: [/agents.md](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/agents.md). --- # Lead Configuration Engineer - **Company:** Magellan Aerospace - **Location:** UK - **Experience:** Expert - **Contract:** Permanent contract - **Skills:** Computer-Aided Design, Computer Aided Three-Dimensional Interactive Application (CATIA), Configuration Management, Computer Literacy, Data Auditing, Data Transmissions, Data Control, Data Files, Statistical Process Control (SPC), CATIA V5, Data Management - **Published:** July 25, 2026 - **Apply:** https://uk.indeed.com/viewjob?jk=f87e3ee610f4c539 ## About the Role Academic: * HNC / Degree in relevant discipline Experience: * Min 10 years of production and Engineering experience in an Aerospace environment * Essential CAD Experience in Catia V5 * Use of ERP systems * Experience of configuration and change management * Experience of controlling / managing engineering change on a complex programme Key Competencies: * Knowledge of GD&T/SPC techniques * Must be computer literate and have a working knowledge of company systems * Sound knowledge of multi-discipline engineering practices, processes and procedures * Sound knowledge of Multi-discipline Engineering fundamental * Ability to interrogate aircraft geometry in Catia based upon multi-customer requirements * Ability to work with legacy data sets * Creation and maintenance of bills of materials * Outstanding organisational skills are required, together with tenacity to drive the process of configuration control from start to finish * Creation and manipulation of datum structures for part-to-part activities * Exceptional attention to detail is paramount for the successful execution of this role * Sound knowledge of aerospace materials treatments and standard hardware * Sound knowledge of EASA Part 21 and Airworthiness publications Other skills/Abilities Skills: * Good practical co-ordination skills (Company Test) * Good understanding of spoken and written English (Company Test) Abilities: * Ability to work using own initiative * Ability to manage and lead a small team * Ability to manage and direct multidiscipline teams Personal Attributes: * Confident with technical decisions * Can interact and work with multi-disciplined team * Confident in explaining and presenting any issues or errors to multi functional departments ## Description Management of a team in the support of all Magellan sites in the configuration management and data control. Maintaining the Bills of Material and change management of spares supporting a manufacturing and assembly rate that is in fluctuation and aligned to full rate production in the various company ERP systems. Participate in Change Control Boards and Technical Review Boards to identify change requirements and associated impacts.
