## About the Role

* Associate degree in IT-related field preferred or High school diploma with equivalent years of experience in a similar role.
 * Relevant certifications a plus
 * 3+ years' experience in an IT support role working with end-users.
 * 3+ years' experience working with computer hardware and software, including installation and maintenance., * Technical knowledge of computer hardware, computer software, printers, and peripheral equipment
 * Limited knowledge of LAN/WAN equipment and topology
 * Advanced knowledge of Windows OS and MS Suite

 * General knowledge of mobile technology.
 * General knowledge of "ticketing systems" (ServiceNow)
 * Effective organization, and planning skills, with ability to handle changing priorities.
 * Excellent communications, interpersonal and influencing skills.

## Description

The IT Support Technician will be responsible for providing onsite and remote support for end-users at Corning's Concord plant. This role performs technical duties and activities within prescribed time frames in the manufacturing and office environments supporting a range of equipment including PCs, printers, servers, limited network/RF support, etc., * Responsible for the acquisition, installation, and maintenance of hardware and software technology.

 * Responds to requests and incident tickets for first level support to users (onsite and remote) on any IT related matter. Escalation to levels 2 and 3 when applicable.
 * Management of spares and assets inventory in the Inventory management tool
 * Training of end-users and communication on Corporate IT initiatives, best practices, or any other relevant IT-related topics.
 * Participation in any plant IT-related activities on offices and manufacturing systems.
 * Proposes and implements solutions to improve and solve routine problems.
 * Assist with management of hardware refresh projects - PC's, printers, timeclocks
 * Supports new hires onboarding by introducing them to Corning hardware, software, and IT policies.
 * Follows standard operating procedures.
 * Maintains and ensures confidentiality of information / materials.
 * Gives periodic status reports in written and verbal formats.
 * Always focused on safety.
