The role is a hybrid of instructional design, UX, and game design. We welcome two backgrounds: a learning or instructional designer curious about games, or a game, serious-games, or interactive designer curious about education. Over 13 years, we have developed a specific methodology for immersive learning. You'll learn that methodology directly from the CEO, who currently leads our product and experience design. In the first phase, you'll work directly alongside that design process: shadowing client and SME meetings, documenting design decisions, drafting learner flows, and turning high-level concepts into clear written specifications. From there, the role grows steadily toward ownership: individual activities first, then module sections, and eventually whole learning experiences. This is a good fit for an associate-level designer with practical design experience, strong written communication, and the ambition to grow into a specialized interactive learning design role. Responsibilities: * Design learning experiences alongside the product lead and subject-matter experts, and document the decisions behind them. * Translate educational content into interactive designs: learner flows, interaction steps, UI wireframes, NPC dialogue, visual references or storyboards, and the specifications the development and art teams build from. * Review implemented features and produced assets against design intent, and give clear, structured feedback. * Adjust designs in response to QA and playtesting, keeping documentation up to date throughout. * Help improve UniVirtual's design templates, documentation standards, and design processes. * Collaborate across a cross-functional team of developers, artists, QA, subject-matter experts, and leadership. ## Related Videos - [UX is a fullstack job!](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1020-ux-is-a-fullstack-job) - [Humanizing Your Documentation](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/476-humanizing-your-documentation) - [Building Collaborative Open Source tools for Developers and Designers - Pablo Ruiz-Muzquiz from Penpot](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1345-building-collaborative-open-source-tools-for-developers-and-designers-pablo-ruiz-muzquiz-from-penpot) - [We are all part of the game](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/406-we-are-all-part-of-the-game) - [Why Is Software Documentation Still Static – And Why Modern Browsers Deserve Better](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/2054-why-is-software-documentation-still-static-and-why-modern-browsers-deserve-better) - [Insight into AI-Driven Design](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1016-insight-into-ai-driven-design) ## Related Articles - [Fully Remote Software Engineer Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/447-fully-remote-software-engineer-jobs) - [Why Upskilling And Reskilling is Important For Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/428-why-upskilling-and-reskilling-is-important-for-developers) - [Dev Digest 121 - AI goes offline](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/456-dev-digest-121-ai-goes-offline) - [How to Write a CV and Interview if You Don't Fully Qualify For The Job](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/183-how-to-write-a-cv-and-interview-if-you-don-t-fully-qualify-for-the-job) - [The Most Popular IT Jobs on the Market](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/376-the-most-popular-it-jobs-on-the-market) - [Where to Find Entry-Level Software Engineering Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/397-where-to-find-entry-level-software-engineering-jobs)
