Agent guide: [/agents.md](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/agents.md). --- # Solar Performance Engineer - **Company:** Nextpower - **Location:** Madrid, Spain - **Contract:** Permanent contract - **Skills:** Microsoft Excel, Data Analysis, Big Data, Data Cleansing, Data Mining, Python (Programming Language), Operational Data Store, Scripting, Performance Monitor, Web Api - **Published:** July 12, 2026 - **Apply:** https://es.indeed.com/viewjob?jk=2ca478805e471668 ## About the Role * Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Accounting, Engineering, Statistics, or related disciplines. * Minimum of 1 years' experience in performance engineering, data science, analytics, or similar activity. * Minimum of 2 years of experience in the solar domain, preferably relating to the performance, design, operations and maintenance, and modeling of utility-scale solar power plants . * Experience with operational aspects of utility-scale solar power plants relating to operations and maintenance, performance reporting, performance metrics, and data analysis of operational time series data * Experience directly leading interactions with customers, showing exceptional communication skills to engage effectively with clients, present findings, manage expectations, and resolve queries, in a professional and collaborative manner. * Ability to manage multiple projects each at different stages concurrently while staying organized and maintaining high-quality work standards. * Strong analytical skills with an exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. * Understanding of solar power plant equipment and performance modeling and analysis, including solar resource, sun position, irradiance, transposition models, module technologies, inverter behaviors, etc. Additional Qualifications (Preferred): * Master's degree in a relevant field. * Familiarity with performance engineering tools like PVsyst, PVLIB Python, NREL SAM, and other PV software and models. * Experience working with time series datasets and typical pitfalls associated with solar time series data, such as daylight savings time shift correction, alignment of multiple time series, etc. * Experience using web APIs, basic scripting such as with Python or similar language, and Microsoft Excel. * Proficiency in statistics and experience using statistical packages for dataset analysis. * Ability to identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex datasets. * Technical expertise in data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques. ## Description You'll play a pivotal role in driving customer success through the execution and management of our TrueCapture Benefit Evaluation program on behalf of our customers. This position resides within the Asset Management department of Nextpower, and will be based in Madrid Spain, with primary responsibilities focused on the EU market region. Your responsibilities will include: Ensuring Accuracy and Customer Satisfaction You'll meticulously analyze and compare TrueCapture field measured gains against quoted and modeled gains. Any disparities will be thoroughly investigated and resolved, ensuring that our customers receive accurate and reliable information. Engaging directly with customers, you'll effectively communicate processes, present results, and address any concerns, managing schedules and reporting requirements to maintain transparency and customer trust and satisfaction. Enhancing Operational Efficiency Your role involves continually refining analysis methods, data cleaning techniques, and automation processes to scale-up the calculation of TrueCapture measured gains. By monitoring site performance during field tests, you'll guarantee the collection of high-quality data for analysis, contributing significantly to project efficiency and success. You'll manage several projects in parallel for EU market and global customers, ensuring that Benefit Evaluation projects stay on track and customers are kept up-to-date with the latest information and status. You'll work collaboratively with colleagues in adjacent departments within Asset Management to coordinate resolution to any site operational issues that may arise during a test, as well as ensure that new tests start off with every tracker working according to expectation. Empowering Insights and Diagnosing Issues Supporting active monitoring, you'll analyze solar resource, production, and operational data, translating these insights into actionable reports and summaries.
