## About the Role

Job Overview:We are seeking a skilled Datacentre Engineer with a strong mechanical and technical background to support the Customisation & Deployment of server/enterprise equipment within high performance and Datacentre environments. The ideal candidate will have hands on experience in Datacentres.We are looking for the above skillset/experience combined with a strong commitment to quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.This role will be based in our Hatfield Integration Centre working closely with our Operational, consultancy & infrastructure teams.Location: Hatfield AL10 9TWRate: An hourly rate, in-scope IR35, of £14.90 (PAYE) OR £19.33 per hour (via a Hays Approved Umbrella Company).Contract Length: up to 4 sept 2026Shift Timings: Mon - Fri (08:00 AM to 04:00 PM & 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM)Key Responsibilities*Rack n stack of active Network hardware, switches, routers & servers*Understand and follow patching schedule/cut sheet.*Installing power and data connection cables within
server & networking racks.*Follow instructions and providing on-site support to remote network and systems administrators.*Read & follow Rack Elevation Diagrams*Apply basic IP Addressing under instruction/direction.*Installing and configuring UPS systems (Desirable)*Collaborate with engineering, project management, and cross functional teams to ensure successful and timely deployments.*Follow all safety procedures, industry standards, and environmental guidelines during field operations.Key Requirements*Must be very familiar with working in a Data Centre*Good understanding of various Structured Cabling Solutions*Capable of installing & Testing Fibre Optic cables*Strong mechanical aptitude, problem solving ability, and high attention to detail.*Comfortable with performing hands on technical work.*OSHA 10/30 or equivalent safety certification preferred but not required.Preferred Skills*Experience working in high performance computing (HPC) or hyperscale data centre environments.*Knowledge
