Basic Requirements for Supervisory Health System Specialist: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing and managing health care programs; monitoring facility performance and preparing reports; and coordinating with clinical and administrative leadership on healthcare administrative policies, programs, and operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. ## Description * Provide guidance and advice on all critical subject areas within patient administration areas of responsibility. * Develop solutions to complex health information management support issues and presents final actions or recommendations. * Advise and consult hospital staff on patient administration issues, to include patient policies, eligibility, patient management, accountability, patient disposition, special category patients, and special circumstance patients. * Ensure proper execution within the boundaries of policies and programs. * Review performance evaluations made by subordinate supervisors on their employees. * Take appropriate action to ensure the military treatment facility (MTF) complies and implements administrative activities through various committee actions. * Review publications, regulations, bulletins, and other media of an informative, directive, or regulatory nature to ensure current procedural requirements and application of benefits are disseminated., * Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. * You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. * This position requires a 1 year probationary period during which the agency evaluates your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest.
