A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be: Option 1: * Experience: Two years of journey level experience in the installation, maintenance or repair of communications and electronic equipment. * Education: Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by technical instruction in electronic communication systems installation and maintenance. Option 2: * Education: Completion of academic, military, or vocational programs leading to an associate degree in electronics or communications technology or its equivalent., Experience and Education - Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be: * Option 1: Four years of experience performing network and systems support, installation, maintenance, and repair of communications and electronic equipment, including experience in the following: phone based exchange (PBX) administration, voice over IP (VoIP), network video monitoring systems (NVMS), wired/wireless network infrastructure and operation of land mobile radio (LMR) equipment, or radio over IP (RoIP), data networking infrastructure and microwave networks comparable to a Communications Systems Specialist I in Napa County; and equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by technical instruction in electronic communication systems installation and maintenance. * Option 2: Two years of experience performing network and systems support, installation, maintenance, and repair of communications and electronic equipment, including experience in the following: phone based exchange (PBX) administration, voice over IP (VoIP), network video monitoring systems (NVMS), wired/wireless network infrastructure and operation of land mobile radio (LMR) equipment, or radio over IP (RoIP), data networking infrastructure and microwave networks comparable to a Communications Systems Specialist I in Napa County; and equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by technical instruction in electronic communication systems installation and maintenance.
