The role ensures robust launches of Top Hat programs and serial life windows sharing the same electrical architecture by: * Securing full compliance to Functional PDP and legacy EHE deliverables at each milestone * Bringing the Voice of the Customer into the Top Hat development loop * Driving quality convergence and issue burn-down toward SOP * Ensuring lessons learned are captured and implemented across programs This position acts as the Quality integrator between Top Hat programs and the FEA-x machinery. Global Mission: Why this role exists * Guarantee quality readiness at Top Hat launch * Ensure electrical architecture consistency across programs * Anticipate and mitigate quality risks before SOP * Drive robust convergence of electrical software and functional topics Key Responsibilities 1. Quality Governance of Top Hat Programs * Target deployment and Quality metrics achievemnt * Ensure compliance to Functional PDP and EHE legacy deliverables * Identify missing or weak deliverables impacting launch quality * Challenge program teams on readiness gaps 2. Program Quality Assessment (with FEAs & SSTMs) Drive structured Design reviews covering: 2.1 Quality Status * Functional design readiness * Feature availability * Validation maturity * Software robustness including DTC convergence * APQP status * DFMEA/PFMEA completion 2.2 Issue Tracking * Critical issue identification and prioritization * Burn-down follow-up * Escalation management (FEW / TCCB / Project review) 2.3 Deliverables Achievement * EE BOM maturity * Packaging & schematics releases * 12v energy system compliance * Diagnosis strategy compliance * EOL / Flashing convergence * Industrial readiness consistency 3. Lessons Learned & Continuous Improvement * Ensure lessons learned are properly captured at Top Hat level * Guarantee effective re-injection into future programs sharing same architecture * Capitalize systemic issues across EHE + FEA-x perimeter 4. Risk &DeferralGovernance * Risk assessment for issues entering the deferral process - Evaluate severity, occurrence, and detection to support go/no-go recommendations and appropriate containment strategies. * Quality position in Industrial and Deferral Committees - Represent the Quality standpoint, ensuring decisions are data-driven and aligned with customer and brand expectations. * Customer impact assessment and mitigation - Ensure impacts are fully understood (field, service, manufacturing) and that mitigation plans are defined, validated, and tracked to closure. 5. Recovery& Convergence Leadership * Build robust recovery plans with SSTMs when required - Define containment, corrective actions, verification steps, and timing to recover milestone readiness and protect SOP delivery. * Drive cross-functional alignment (EHE / SWE / CCLP / Vehicle Engineering) - Facilitate shared prioritization, clear ownership, and synchronized execution across functions to remove blockers quickly. * Secure quality convergence prior to key milestones and SOPM up to MPTR - Monitor convergence indicators and enforce closure of critical gaps to achieve a stable, customer-ready product at each gate. ## Related Videos - [PySpark - Combining Machine Learning & Big Data](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/44-pyspark-combining-machine-learning-big-data) - [Recruiting in 2025: Will AI Help or Take Over?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1301-recruiting-in-2025-will-ai-help-or-take-over) - [It's not easy being green](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/558-it-s-not-easy-being-green) - [Building a hypercar from scratch](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/607-building-a-hypercar-from-scratch) - [How Data is Shaping our Games](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/176-how-data-is-shaping-our-games) - [Car's are Technology on Wheels - Impact of Software and IT Competence in Automotive](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/780-car-s-are-technology-on-wheels-impact-of-software-and-it-competence-in-automotive) ## Related Articles - [How software is steering vehicle technology](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/515-how-software-is-steering-vehicle-technology) - [Top Characteristics of a Software Engineer](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/166-top-characteristics-of-a-software-engineer) - [From developer to manager – what does it take to become an engineering manager?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/42-from-developer-to-manager-what-does-it-take-to-become-an-engineering-manager) - [Now is the time for industrialized software development](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/601-now-is-the-time-for-industrialized-software-development) - [The 12 Best Jobs for Software Engineers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/401-the-12-best-jobs-for-software-engineers) - [What’s the Difference between a Junior, Mid, and Senior Developer?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/238-what-s-the-difference-between-a-junior-mid-and-senior-developer)
