Preferred Experience: + AWS Certified Solutions Architecture certification preferred. + Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines preferred. + Experience with and enterprise grade low code/no code platform is preferred (preferably Appian). ## Description The State Based Systems (SBS) division of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) has an exciting opportunity for a Solutions Architect. This position is responsible for designing and implementing short and long-term strategic goals for managing and maintaining systems and software. This involves gathering requirements and functional specifications, assessing current software systems in place to identify areas in need of improvement, and defining appropriate technical architecture for new development. They provide their expertise and architectural assistance to other technical staff including software development teams. This is a full-time remote position, in a positive and flexible environment. Residency within 100 miles of the Kansas City office is required. Responsibilities include: + Develop technical architecture, frameworks and strategies to meet the business and application requirements. + Work with the infrastructure and development teams to ensure the successful implementation of new solutions and enhancements to existing solutions. + Build relationships with related development and support organizations. Simplifies and + communicates complex technical concepts to senior leadership, product managers, and other non-technical stakeholders. + Identify, research, and resolve technical problems.Mentor and establish relations across technical and architecture teams. + Provide technical coaching to team members on design patterns, development processes, and other technical processes to improve their technical skills. + Provide technical governance of initiatives to ensure adherence with standards.
