Minimum of 4 years of experience in electronics repair, technical support, field service, or a related technical environment. Previous experience testing and repairing electronics in a shop environment. Eligibility Requirements Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship. Ability to travel to customer sites as required. Ability to work onsite, 1st shift, Monday Friday, 5 days per week; some overtime may be required. Physical Requirements Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, climb, and work in various physical positions as needed. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. Ability to work in shop, field, and customer-site environments. Ability to use hand tools, test equipment, and related repair equipment safely and effectively. Ability to stand or walk for extended periods, as required by job duties. Desired Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred. Locomotive air brake experience. QNX and/or Linux experience. Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision. Locomotive knowledge. IPC soldering certification. Prior network communication experience. ## Description The Customer Support Engineer Specialist provides technical support to customers through onsite service, phone support, equipment installation, troubleshooting, and repair of Wabtec onboard systems. This role performs bench-level electronics testing and repair, responds to service issues, prepares customer reports, and documents activities accurately and timely. The position requires strong hands-on electronics experience, customer-facing communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently to resolve moderately complex technical issues. Essential Responsibilities Perform bench testing and board-level repairs using test fixtures, test equipment, tools, and approved test procedures for validation. Perform onsite installation of systems and equipment. Respond to requests for emergency repairs and service for malfunctioning or troublesome equipment. Provide technical instruction and assistance to customers regarding installation, operation, calibration, repair, and maintenance, both over the phone and at customer sites. Partner with engineering teams to evaluate and improve product performance and reliability. Plan, prepare, and/or deliver internal and external training programs to support product knowledge in areas of specialization. Complete administrative responsibilities, including technical reports, job status reports, customer reports, timesheets, and expense reports accurately, thoroughly, and on time. Maintain working knowledge of the ticketing system to ensure timely and accurate input of customer call and service information.
