(GAI) partners with prime contractors to provide professional services. Key service areas include Engineering Design and Documentation; Software Development and Testing; System Integration, Testing and Evaluation; Lab Management and Field Installation; Integrated Logistics Support, Training Development and Delivery, Multimedia Support, and Technical System Support._ _Network Architect Job Description:_ Performs network design, development and troubleshooting, as well as system performance analysis and design. _Network Architect Required Tasks:_ * Evaluate utilizing dual **Container Network Interface (** CNI) plugins to support multiple **Maximum Transmission Unit (** MTU) sizes and assess the feasibility of using a single MTU within the PaaS environment versus dual MTUs for external workloads. The candidate should be familiar with multi-MTU network messaging and Kubernetes CNI configurations. Because CNI is a pluggable framework, you can choose different networking solutions (Calico, Cilium, Flannel, etc.) that implement the CNI spec to meet your cluster's requirements. Familiarity with these network solutions is desired. * Migrate to a 10.CCE for the PaaS network. Reduce number of **Access Control Lists (** ACLs) for Control Plane traffic in Platform as a Service (PaaS) while maintaining subsystem subnet ingress/egress. * Evaluate the need of applications using Broadcast on VxLAN. * Perform network engineering in support of the Network Working Group (NWG IPT). * Responsible for network monitoring and maintenance, configuration management, network support and problem resolution, system performance analysis and evaluation, performance metrics analysis, and failure analysis on the network for the program. * Interfaces with customers, developers and support programs to ensure optimal flow of communications between subsystems. * Design and enhancement and planning of computer network communications including specifications and schematics for network architecture on multiple subsystems. * Perform evaluation and make recommendations on network hardware and software selections, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet tactical programmatic needs, including present and future capacity requirements. * Conduct performance and failover testing of network devices and their impact on system stability. * Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware/software interconnection and interfaces - such as firewalls, routers, switches, gateways, middleware, etc. and OSI layer 1/2/3/4 functionality involved. * Evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance capabilities of the network system performance and monitoring. * Perform network documentation for working group presentations and exchanges. ## Related Videos - [An Applied Introduction to eBPF with Go](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1075-an-applied-introduction-to-ebpf-with-go) - [How Cisco embraced a DevOps culture within its network engineering team](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/99-how-cisco-embraced-a-devops-culture-within-its-network-engineering-team) - [Docker network without Docker](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1418-docker-network-without-docker) - [Demystifying application networking in the cloud](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/675-demystifying-application-networking-in-the-cloud) - [Turning Container security up to 11 with Capabilities](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/718-turning-container-security-up-to-11-with-capabilities) - [Your Infrastructure Is Not a Playground: AI Agents for Infra Done Right](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/2084-your-infrastructure-is-not-a-playground-ai-agents-for-infra-done-right) ## Related Articles - [Learning Kubernetes made easy with KubeCampus](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/348-learning-kubernetes-made-easy-with-kubecampus) - [What Are The Top Skills Required For Azure Developers?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/77-what-are-the-top-skills-required-for-azure-developers) - [Is Software Engineering Over-Saturated?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/418-is-software-engineering-over-saturated) - [Highest Paying Tech Companies for Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/220-highest-paying-tech-companies-for-developers) - [5 Reasons Why Attending Conferences in 2026 Matters More Than You Think](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/692-5-reasons-why-attending-conferences-in-2026-matters-more-than-you-think) - [7 Important Tips That Every Software Developer Should Know](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/101-7-important-tips-that-every-software-developer-should-know)
