In this role you will own the engineering practices that turn business and actuarial requirements into deployed configuration across ALIP's full policy lifecycle - application intake, underwriting, issuance, and in-force servicing - through the BC/PC configuration set and its GitLab CI/CD promotion pipelines. You will serve as the primary technical liaison between USAA and our platform partner (Accenture), translating requirements across teams, leading design and code/config reviews, and ensuring that changes to underwriting logic (HLQ), business rules, workflows, and UI configuration deploy safely and predictably to production. You will also partner closely with USAA integration, underwriting, and Data & Analytics teams to align ALIP with upstream and downstream systems - from new business and requirement-ordering integrations to reporting and staging pipelines. Demonstrates strong engineering thought leadership and applies deep technical expertise to deliver reliable, well-tested configuration and integration changes across a highly configurable, mission-critical insurance platform. Leads code and configuration reviews, mentors engineers, and drives operational improvements in the BC/PC delivery pipeline. Anticipates and troubleshoots production issues spanning configuration, integration, and infrastructure layers, and articulates complex technical trade-offs to both technical and business audiences to keep delivery aligned to USAA's mission, brand, and strategic priorities. We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position will be based in San Antonio; TX or Plano; TX.
