A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or, 3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above, However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above. Preferred Skills 1. Extensive working knowledge of Xplor Recreation. 2. Proven track record of working with data visualization software and business intelligence tools, such as Power BI, Tableau or Microsoft Excel SharePoint. 3. Experience with GIS and SQL. 4. Experience communicating and presenting both verbally and visually to diverse stakeholders. 5. Ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently. 6. Valid New York State driver license. Public Service Loan Forgiveness ## Description The Recreation Division enables all New Yorkers to lead physically active and intellectually stimulating lives through sports, fitness, outdoor adventure, technology, education and the arts. The Data Coordinator will be responsible for managing all Recreation-relevant data and data tools for their borough including but not limited to Xplor Recreation, Fleet, Information Technology and Telecommunications (ITT), Compliance, Performance Management and Maintenance. Major Responsibilities * Under general direction of a Borough Chief of Recreation, with latitude for independent judgment and initiative, support the division through data management, analysis, visualization and reporting. * Manage and take responsibility for all aspects of Xplor Recreation for assigned borough. * Regularly inspect data to ensure data is complete, accurate, and updated; manage all information being sent to the NYC Parks website from Xplor Recreation. * Track system peripherals and components and report issues to ITT. * Coach other data users on the acquisition and usage of data, new data sources, tools and analytical methods. * Advance efforts to take a data-informed approach to Recreation's work.
