Perhaps some of the following would be helpful too: * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience * 7+ years of professional software development experience * Strong proficiency in C# and .NET (ASP.NET Core) * Experience building RESTful APIs and distributed services * Experience designing scalable client-server or cloud-native applications * Experience with relational databases and data modeling (T-SQL / Azure SQL) * Experience implementing automated testing strategies (unit, integration) * Experience with Git-based source control workflows * Experience working in Agile / Scrum software development environments * Strong system design, debugging, and communication skills * Demonstrated ability to mentor or guide other engineers * Microsoft Azure services: App Services, Azure Functions, Service Bus, Storage, Application Insights, Azure SQL, Key Vault, Managed Identity * Microservice and service-oriented architecture design patterns * Event-driven systems and messaging patterns (Azure Service Bus / Event Grid) * CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions * Containerization technologies: Docker and Kubernetes (AKS) * Observability and monitoring practices (Application Insights / OpenTelemetry / structured logging) * OpenAPI / Swagger API documentation * Authentication and authorization using OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and Microsoft Entra ID * Experience modernizing legacy desktop or monolithic applications * WPF or desktop application development (C++/C#) * Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / Bicep / ARM) * Building industry software experience is a plus ## Description We are actively investing in the transformation of our software platform from traditional desktop applications toward modern cloud-based services and APIs hosted in Microsoft Azure. This role offers the opportunity to influence technical direction, mentor team members, and grow into a Technical Lead position as our platform modernization efforts expand. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING (% of Time) Design, develop, and support scalable cloud-native services and APIs using C# and ASP.NET Core. (30%) Collaborate with architects and engineers to modernize existing desktop application functionality into service-oriented and cloud-hosted solutions. (20%) Design and implement secure, observable, and resilient distributed systems leveraging Azure cloud technologies. (15%) Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and architecture reviews while promoting engineering best practices. (10%) Develop automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment processes to improve software quality and delivery velocity. (10%) Participate in Agile planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. (10%) Mentor team members and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering standards and development practices.
