Agent guide: [/agents.md](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/agents.md). --- # Data Center Technician 3 - **Company:** Oracle - **Location:** Salem, OR, United States - **Experience:** Experienced - **Salary:** $68,307.0 - $141,190.0 - **Contract:** Permanent contract - **Skills:** X86 Architecture, Airflow, Command-Line Interface, Information Systems, Data Centers, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol, Linux, RAID, Domain Name System (DNS), Ethernet, Windows Servers, Networking Basics, Network File Systems, Oracle (Applications), Oracle Warehouse Builder, Small Computer System Interface (SCSI), Serial Communications, TCP/IP, Telnet, Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP), File Transfer Protocol (FTP), Information Technology, Hardware Infrastructure, Hardware Debugging - **Published:** July 15, 2026 - **Apply:** https://dejobs.org/x/x/43262750763D4A559BAD2A8B27F2DC2A/job/ ## About the Role * Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, OR equivalent work experience. * Recent graduates are encouraged to apply if they can demonstrate interest and knowledge in the position and a willingness to learn on the job - gap year students also considered. * Prefer 2-5 years of data center experience; 4 years for development preferred * Experience working in a mission-critical operations environment. * The position has a physical component requiring the ability to lift to 25Kg and may require working in cramped spaces or elevated locations. * Thorough understanding of data center design, including electrical and cooling plant & and operation thereof. * Airflow management (hot aisle, cold aisle, containment etc.) * Rack, and stack equipment including commissioning of new racks. * Strong structured cabling skills on fiber & and copper (e.g looming, term & test). * Fully competent in own area of expertise-anticipates problems and develops contingency plans * Leadership experience is a must (minimum 10 plus people in a quickly changing environment) * Able to carry out directive without supervision * Able to resolve issues on their own and apply stop gaps for damage control * Able to address not just technicians, but management as well * Able to coordinate with peer level IC's and formulate solutions to a multitude of problems. * Able to guide junior technicians and instruct them on proper etiquette and protocol * Able to lift 50lbs. * Able to climb a 9 ft. ladder. * Ability to stand for up to 12 hours Required systems & hardware expertise: * Systems administration (Linux and/or Windows Servers - especially command line based). * Hardware repair, diagnosis & break/fix. * Networking fundamentals (DNS, TCP/IP, basic troubleshooting). * IT Hardware Concepts (RAID, SAN, x86 architecture, SCSI, FC, ethernet, iLO). * Base Operating System Installs and Configuration. * Core OS Services: SSH, Telnet, RDP, FTP, NFS, DNS, DHCP, Serial communication etc. ## Description An Oracle Data Center Technician will be the technical liaison between the technology teams and the Data Center Environment. You can troubleshoot and solve all but the most complex infrastructure issues, you understand which issues to escalate to the appropriate resolver groups. You create and maintain documentation on technologies you support. You understand all aspects of the equipment you support. You know how to innovate and make decisions on his/her own, but also know how to take direction when it is given, paying attention to all details involved. This position involves working on a 24/7 shift rotation Employment for all candidates is contingent upon satisfactory background checks.nd solutions within a fast-paced, leading edge database/applications company., * Act as data center SME liaison to other technical teams & and non-technical teams (e.g networking, computing, compliance, business operations). * Understand internal customer problems and provide technical solutions in timely manner. * Participate in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all production server hardware, software. * System board level repair and fault diagnosis to SLAs. * Planning & and commissioning new rack positions. * Involvement with the design & and commissioning of new whitespaces. * Structured cabling installation is a significant part of this position. * Training and adherence to governmental and company-set health and safety processes. * Uses professional concepts, company policies/procedures & creativity to sole a wide range of problems * Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project or assignment * Failure to obtain results would have serious consequences and require expenditure of resources * Contacts are withing the organization and with external departments * May assist other staff with aspects of their role; may have project lead role Please note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
