The selected Network Communications & Systems Maintainer - Level 2 will support the GMD SITR program which is a critical part of our nation's layered Ballistic Missile Defense System providing the US with the capability to engage and intercept long-range ballistic missiles during midcourse flight. * Conduct daily GMD system backups and health checks. * Support on-duty warfighters with account and password issues. * Maintain GMD assets to a level of system availability of over 99% for the customer. * Maintain and repair network hardware including routers, switches, taclanes, and firewalls. * Maintain and repair computing hardware including servers, workstations, media converters, thin clients, etc. * Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software installation, interconnection, and interfacing. * Perform logistics functions required to maintain operational readiness. * Act as Subject Matter Expert in NG operations and sustainment procedures, for console operators, GMOC, and other GMD MDIOC personnel. * Support and assist with training on-duty console operators with initial troubleshooting, and coordination with external stakeholders. * Provide support as required to government and industry system operators. * Communicate with a variety of military and contractor personnel. * Will work during occasional varied shifts, including holidays and weekends, and provide on-call support as needed. * International travel to support remote site maintenance will be required.
