The Department of Labor & Industries (L&I) is looking for a Journey-Level IT Application Developer to join our Applications & Data Management (A&DM) team within the Maintenance & Operations (M&O) program. In this role, you'll be a trusted individual contributor for writing computer code for business applications and databases within your assigned area of responsibility and will be accountable for meeting quality and security standards in your completed work assignments and peer reviews. You will contribute to the team's success by using an Agile/Scrum development framework and Azure Dev Ops to deliver quality applications to the production environment. The Applications & Data Management (A&DM) program is comprised of six development teams organized into multiple Agile teams that deliver advanced web capabilities to citizens and businesses within Washington State. Duties Some of what you'll do: As part of an Agile development team, you'll help design, build, maintain, and improve applications that support agency programs. * Application Development, including: + Develop and maintain software applications, application interfaces and web services. + Understand business requirements and how they translate to application features. + Serve as a technical advisor who is responsible for assisting management in coordinating work items for several applications. + Develop, maintain and enhance applications. + Develop prototypes that enable business functionality. + Lead staff or work independently to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve technology issues relating to applications, environment, platform, software, or hardware. + Participating on Incident Response and Problem Management teams to identify solutions to issues * Application Development-Process and Documentation, including: + Use the software development lifecycle (SDLC) process to plan, analyze, design, develop, and test applications and application interfaces. + Ensure the delivery of technology solutions by using technology standards and procedures that are aligned with the technology direction of L&I. + Document technical specifications, network diagrams, application functionality, deployment plans, and software release notes to fully support applications. * Application Development Research, including: + Research complex technical issues related to application development, database structure, application platform, configuration, application performance, security and data integrity. + Stay abreast of technical trends and issues as technology evolves. + Research emergent technologies and makes determination for use and implementation., We understand that your life revolves around more than just your career.
