This is not a traditional business-facing PO role; it requires deep comfort with backend systems, APIs, data flows, and engineering trade-offs., * Bachelor's degree * 5+ years as a Product Owner / Product Manager with demonstrated ownership of backend or platform engineering teams * Strong working knowledge of REST/GraphQL APIs, microservices architecture, distributed systems, and event-driven design * Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, API specs, ERDs, and architecture diagrams * Proven ability to write detailed, unambiguous user stories and acceptance criteria for backend systems-not just UI features * Experience managing complex cross-system dependencies, integration risk, and competing engineering priorities * Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum environments alongside senior engineers, architects, and QA teams * Experience in regulated environments-banking, fintech, or financial services strongly preferred * Strong communication skills; able to bridge technical and executive audiences with equal fluency, IER Right to Work Poster (English/Spanish) E-Verify Participation Poster (English/Spanish) ## Description You will serve as the connective tissue between engineering teams and business stakeholders, translating complex technical realities into prioritized, well-scoped work. You will partner closely with Engineering, Architecture, QA, and Business to drive delivery discipline, backlog clarity, and measurable outcomes for mission-critical financial services infrastructure., * Own the product backlog for Core Services platforms including Identity, Rules Manager, Document Service, Notifications, and core banking APIs * Deep-dive into technical architecture, API contracts, data schemas, and system dependencies to write precise, engineer-ready epics, features, and user stories * Drive prioritization decisions grounded in technical debt, system risk, regulatory impact, and business value-not just feature requests * Partner with Engineering leadership (SDMs, Architects) to evaluate feasibility, identify constraints, and ensure scalable, maintainable solutions * Act as the single point of accountability for backlog clarity, readiness, acceptance criteria, and definition of done * Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release planning in close collaboration with delivery teams * Enforce strict release governance-features are well-defined, tested, and aligned with SLA expectations before shipping * Monitor production incidents and system health metrics; translate operational data into actionable backlog priorities * Drive cross-team alignment across Clearing, AAS, OLB, Commercial, QA, and Infrastructure teams * Provide executive-ready reporting on roadmap progress, risks, blockers, and delivery outcomes * Evaluate technical proposals and tradeoffs with engineering teams, including service isolation strategies, caching layers, and API versioning approaches, While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to sit for extended periods of time.
