View information on . ## Description All MWEOC staff have emergency assignments and are considered deployed in place. Exercises and activations are planned and unplanned, and may require long hours, nights, weekends and holidays., In this position, you will serve as a Utility Systems Operator responsible for monitoring, operating, and maintaining site drinking water treatment plant and wastewater treatment plant and associated systems. Typical assignments include: * Monitoring and sampling site drinking water distribution and storage systems and storm water systems. * Using Supervisory Control Data and Acquisition (SCADA) systems to monitor, operate and determine maintenance problems for corrective action. * Operating water treatment and sewage treatment facilities & performing water treatment tests and measurements which require knowledge of various microbiological organisms. * Using equipment such as bar racks, fine screens, grease operators, membrane filters, and aeration tanks and adjusting for proper settleable matter from liquids. * Conducting regularly scheduled checks of equipment and maintaining records of all phases of plant operations (water treatment, wastewater treatment). Certifications Required for the position : WG-09: The incumbent must currently possess and maintain a Virginia Class III Water Treatment License or a Virginia Class IV Wastewater Treatment License.
