EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: In addition to satisfying the vocational/education standards, this class requires a minimum of two years of full-time experience in software development and engineering. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies. ## Description The City of Chesapeake is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to support and enhance the City's PeopleSoft Financials environment. This position is responsible for administering, maintaining, and optimizing the PeopleSoft application and supporting infrastructure to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of critical enterprise systems. The Software Engineer will manage system upgrades, patches, integrations, customizations, and environment refreshes while monitoring system performance and resolving complex technical issues. This position works closely with functional teams, database administrators, and third party vendors to implement technical solutions that support the City's financial operations. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background in PeopleSoft administration and development, along with excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and customer service skills., C = Continuously- 2/3 or more of the time.
