You will be part of the team that determines what Synapse Everywhere exposes, how it behaves under load and failure, and what the experience of building on it feels like for an external developer. You will work directly with the Director of Software Engineering to determine what is feasible to build, in what order, and with what guarantees. This is a new platform so high ambiguity is the baseline, not the exception. AI-assisted & human-owned development is the standard on this team. We expect engineers at this level to be excellent at discerning when and how to use AI tools. Team cohesion is critical for the pace of development, so you'll be joining a high respect high and high personal accountability team. You Will: * Establish yourself as the engineer others look to when the problems are the hardest and make sure they come away knowing how to approach the next one themselves. * Lead API surface decisions: what gets exposed, what stays internal, what the stability guarantees are for external consumers. * Own technical discovery for new capabilities; work with product and clinical stakeholders to translate requirements into feasible contracts. * Participate in on-call rotation for the Synapse Everywhere platform; respond to incidents, own post-incident reviews, and drive reliability improvements from what is learned. * Provide expert code reviews and technical mentorship within the team. * Design solutions on modern infrastructure (cloud solutions, k8s, LLMs) with expert level understanding of what and why, not just being able to call infrastructure or run pipelines. ## Related Videos - [Kotlin Multiplatform - True power of native code reuse](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/4-kotlin-multiplatform-true-power-of-native-code-reuse) - [Go with the Flow: Stop the Leaks Before Your Memory's a Waterfall!](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100073-go-with-the-flow-stop-the-leaks-before-your-memory-s-a-waterfall) - [Understanding Kubernetes in a visual way](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100085-understanding-kubernetes-in-a-visual-way) - [The Software Engineer 2030: From Coder To AI Orchestrator? - Patrick Schnell](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1825-the-software-engineer-2030-from-coder-to-ai-orchestrator-patrick-schnell) - [Why Kotlin is the better Java and how you can start using it](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/661-why-kotlin-is-the-better-java-and-how-you-can-start-using-it) - [How I saved 200K/yr in direct costs writing 0 code lines in K8s](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1055-how-i-saved-200k-yr-in-direct-costs-writing-0-code-lines-in-k8s) ## Related Articles - [Highest Paying Tech Companies for Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/220-highest-paying-tech-companies-for-developers) - [Why Upskilling And Reskilling is Important For Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/428-why-upskilling-and-reskilling-is-important-for-developers) - [Dev Digest 120 - Apple and peers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/455-dev-digest-120-apple-and-peers) - [Best Countries for Software Engineers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/267-best-countries-for-software-engineers) - [What is Software Engineering in the Age of AI?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/640-what-is-software-engineering-in-the-age-of-ai) - [7 Most Popular Web Developer Jobs in Europe](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/163-7-most-popular-web-developer-jobs-in-europe)
