Jump into both the front-end and back-end of solutions, with the exact balance depending on the project and team. Write clean, maintainable code, work collaboratively in cross-functional teams, and adhere to strict compliance and data privacy standards (e.g., HIPAA). Design and implement application features, APIs, and background processing services. Write unit, integration, and functional tests using frameworks such as RSpec or Minitest. Work with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL including writing and optimizing SQL queries. Build and maintain secure, scalable web services following RESTful design principles.
