Experience with BMC Control-M workload automation software. * Experience with GIT version control software. * Minimum of three (3) years of recent experience with Pension Administration systems. Technical Ability Mandatory: * Strong SQL knowledge working with complex queries and stored procedures. Proficiency in SSRS reports' development. * Strong analytical skills demonstrated by the ability to receive and analyze requirements and propose a suitable solution that adheres to the team's methodology. * Ability to work in multiple environments: IBM Mainframe, Windows Server, and SQL Server. Proficiency in mainframe applications encompassing COBOL, CICS and DB2. * Understanding of data structures and their relationship to ETL applications. * Ability to develop complex SQL data validations based on STTMs and target data Models. * Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and information-gathering skills along with fundamental technical troubleshooting abilities., * Experience extracting business rules from the existing legacy code. * Experience with Data Quality/Profiling tools. * Experience with Data Warehouses/Data Marts. * Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS). * Prior experience working in a pension system, preferably New York State or New York City pension system. Experience: * source-to-target data mapping: 5 years (Preferred) * creating data dictionary documentation: 5 years (Preferred) * converting/migrating VSAM data to relational/dimensional SQL: 5 years (Preferred) * developing applications using IBM DataStage ETL.: 5 years (Preferred) * extracting field and calculated data from COBOL programs.: 5 years (Preferred) * BMC Control-M workload automation software.: 5 years (Preferred) * GIT version control software.: 5 years (Preferred) * Pension Administration systems.: 3 years (Preferred) * SQL knowledge: 5 years (Preferred) * SSRS reports' development.: 5 years (Preferred) * IBM Mainframe, Windows Server: 5 years (Preferred) * mainframe applications encompassing COBOL, CICS and DB2.: 5 years (Preferred) * data structures and their relationship to ETL applications: 5 years (Preferred) * Senior Data Analyst with Data Modeling (DM): 5 years (Preferred) ## Description * The Senior Data Analyst shall provide NYCERS' Data Management team with technical expertise for the completion of Data Profiling/Cleansing, Conversion/Migration and Validation efforts part Legacy Replacement initiative as well as NYCERS' ongoing process improvement programs.The following deliverables shall apply: * Participate in identification, inventory, and classification of NYCERS critical data. * Work with data SME's to document data quality rules and definitions. * Actively participate in optimization and performance tuning of existing ETL and SQL processes. * Extract business rules from the existing Legacy code and create Source-to-Target mappings. * Transform business rules and data quality rules into ETL and/or SQL technical specifications. * Develop complex SQL data validations based on STTMs and target Data Models. Provide technical and analytical support to NYCERS data integrity and quality initiatives. * Collaborate with SME's and technical leads in identifying and addressing data quality gaps. * Work with IT partners to remediate identified gaps using both manual and automated solutions. * Support processes that proactively detect, correct, and prevent invalid data values.
