Primary Job Skills: Information Technology Technical Skills: Information Technology, Management, Professional Skills: Collaboration, Customer Focus, Developing Others, Written Communication ## Description Under the direction of the Chief Technology Officer for the Ohio Department of Behavioral Health (DBH), the Business Applications Manager: * Oversees the implementation, optimization, maintenance, and support of Epic applications across the agency. * Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of Epic applications into the agency's enterprise information technology infrastructure. * Manages, supervises, mentors, and develops a team of Epic Analysts, fostering a collaborative, high-performing work environment that promotes professional growth and accountability. * Develops and executes strategies to improve team performance, operational efficiency, and successful achievement of project objectives. * Stays current with Epic enhancements, healthcare technology trends, industry best practices, and emerging technologies to continually improve application performance and service delivery. * Partners with executive leadership, clinical leaders, operational stakeholders, and business partners to identify business needs and translate requirements into effective Epic solutions. * Plans, coordinates, manages, and executes Epic-related projects, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, quality outcomes, and compliance with agency standards. * Evaluates project performance, identifies opportunities for process improvement, and implements enhancements to optimize workflows and business operations. * Serves as the primary liaison with Epic and third-party vendors, establishing strong partnerships to maximize system functionality, technical support, and available resources. * Leads the design, implementation, optimization, and ongoing management of Epic modules across the agency, ensuring alignment with enterprise technology strategy, clinical operations, regulatory requirements, and organizational objectives. * Oversees the design and optimization of data flow supporting revenue cycle management, including but not limited to: + Hospital Billing + Professional (Provider) Billing + Prelude + Health Information Management (HIM) + Claims Management + Third-Party System Integrations + Cogito Financial Reporting * Ensures Epic application architecture supports interoperability, data integrity, system performance, security, and regulatory compliance. * Develops and evaluates statewide strategic information technology plans supporting healthcare operations and business applications. * Prepares statewide information technology reports and participates in the development of statewide information technology policies related to procurement, implementation, governance, and utilization of information technology within state government by researching subject matter, analyzing findings, formulating recommendations, and distributing policy guidance. * Responds to statewide information technology surveys, inquiries, and reporting requests. * Confers and collaborates with users, vendors, project teams, and other management personnel to exchange information, resolve complex technical and operational issues, and coordinate agency initiatives. * Represents the agency at executive meetings, management briefings, vendor sessions, training classes, conferences, and professional seminars while providing expert technical and strategic guidance to executive leadership. ## Related Videos -
