Deep expertise in modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Flutter, or similar) and solid understanding of component architecture. * Have deep experience with design tokens, theming, and scalable styling systems (CSS-in-JS, Tailwind, or equivalent approaches). Proven ability to build systems that scale across multiple teams, products, or platforms. * Have deep understanding of accessibility (WCAG), performance, and responsive design principles. Experience working closely with designers and using tools like Figma to bridge design and code. * Have excellent communication skills - able to align cross-functional partners and advocate for system-level decisions. Establish and maintain a true single source of truth across design and code, ensuring tight alignment between Figma and production through tokens, components, and documentation. * Defining and evolve design tokens, theming systems, and styling infrastructure to support multiple platforms and use cases. Build and maintain high-quality, reusable UI components with a focus on accessibility, performance, and flexibility. * Partnering deeply with design to translate intent into production-ready systems - ensuring fidelity without sacrificing scalability. Drive adoption across teams by creating clear standards, documentation, and contribution models that enable teams to move faster with confidence. * Establishing governance models for the design system - balancing consistency with the flexibility teams need to innovate. Collaborate with engineering leadership to integrate the design system into the broader frontend architecture and development workflows. * Improving developer and designer experience through tooling, automation, and improved workflows(Storybook, CI/CD, linting, etc.). Mentor engineers and designers on system thinking, component design, and best practices. * Evaluating and integrate emerging technologies (including AI-assisted development workflows) to improve how we build, test, and scale UI systems. ## Related Videos - [Design Systems and how to develop consistent and scalable products with them](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/639-design-systems-and-how-to-develop-consistent-and-scalable-products-with-them) - [Watch Tests Go Brrrr! : Getting Started with Cypress in ReactJS](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/282-watch-tests-go-brrrr-getting-started-with-cypress-in-reactjs) - [Flutter Packages and Plugins - A Look Under the Hood](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/555-flutter-packages-and-plugins-a-look-under-the-hood) - [Boost Productivity with AI: Figma & Playwright MCP Workflows - Aris Markogiannakis](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1768-boost-productivity-with-ai-figma-playwright-mcp-workflows-aris-markogiannakis) - [Bridging the Gap](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/794-bridging-the-gap) - [Intro to Flutter Development](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/170-intro-to-flutter-development) ## Related Articles - [16 Best Free React UI Libraries in 2025](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/148-16-best-free-react-ui-libraries-in-2025) - [Top 7 CSS Frameworks in 2025](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/362-top-7-css-frameworks-in-2025) - [Are design and development really just the same thing?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/520-are-design-and-development-really-just-the-same-thing) - [Dev Digest 133 - Back to Front](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/474-dev-digest-133-back-to-front) - [The Best 7 Frontend Frameworks for Developers in 2025](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/400-the-best-7-frontend-frameworks-for-developers-in-2025) - [Dev Digest 120 - Apple and peers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/455-dev-digest-120-apple-and-peers)
