## About the Role

Mead & Hunt is currently looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Transportation team as an Experienced Roadway Engineer in Columbia, MD; Herndon VA; Washington, DC., A valid driver's license and some travel will be required.

The successful candidate will have:

 * Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university

 * At least 4 years of relevant roadway design experience
 * Professional Engineer (PE) license required
 * Maryland PE or ability to obtain within 6 months of start date

The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:

 * MicroStation and Bentley InRoads/ OpenRoads Designer (ORD)
 * Experience with technical aspects of Roadway Design

 * Experience with MDOT policies and procedures

 * MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Project)
 * Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills

## Description

* Performing roadway design from feasibility studies through final design
 * Developing plans, specifications, and estimates for a wide range of transportation improvement projects
 * Producing roadway alignments, profiles, typical sections, cross sections, and 3D models
 * Preparing quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and design reports
 * Developing and reviewing plan sets and associated design documents
 * Utilizing MicroStation and InRoads/ OpenRoads Designer (ORD), AutoCAD Civil 3D for design, modeling and plans production
 * Participating in design meetings and coordinating with project team members
 * Serving as roadway task or project lead, as needed.
 * Growing technical and leadership skills with the opportunity to advance into a Project Manager role
 * Other duties as assigned
