A knack for assessing multiple technologies, tools and frameworks to recommend optimal solutions. Understanding of integration methodologies, proof-of-concept validation and deployment strategies. A knack to keep with up technical advancements to ensure relevant and effective recommendations. The ability to maintain standards and ensure smooth transition through knowledge transfer, Mainframe development and architecture, including hands-on z/OS internals. Deep expertise in IBM High-Level Assembler (HLASM) and PL/I; working knowledge of JCL and C/C++ (C370). Strong working knowledge of IMS (DBD/PSB), DB2, VTAM, MFS and ISPF. experience modernizing or migrating mainframe workloads to distributed Java/Linux platforms. Practical understanding of automated code-conversion tooling, its limitations, and where Assembler requires manual re-engineering. Ability to read and document undocumented legacy code and infer business logic., Telecom OSS / BSS domain experience (ordering, provisioning, inventory, activation). Exposure to GenAI / LLM-based code conversion accelerators. Familiarity with RHEL, Java microservices and PostgreSQL as target platforms. Experience with large, multi-wave migration programs., * Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution.
