Master's degree preferred. * 10+ years of detailed design experience in power applications. * Proficiency with Matlab and Simulink simulation tools for simulation of electrical systems down to a component level. * Model-based design experience of power electronic systems, proficiency preferred. * Real-time modeling experience of power electronic systems, proficiency preferred. * Experience with Navy or other defense applications and market. U.S. Citizenship required. This position may require an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment. ## Description The Principal Systems Engineer is responsible for providing technical authority and leadership for the design and development of complex power electronics systems. This role involves reviewing customer specifications and requirements to develop cost-effective designs, defining system and subsystem architectures, and creating comprehensive technical documentation and budget estimates for proposals. The engineer will identify and implement strategies to mitigate key development risks, verify product performance through simulation, analysis, and laboratory testing, and generate and manage detailed design requirements using a requirements traceability matrix (RTM).
