Relevant coursework, technical training, certifications, or equivalent hands-on experience will be considered in lieu of a completed degree. * CompTIA Security+ certification desired * CompTIACySA+ or similar SOC/security analyst credential preferred * 1-4 years of experience in cybersecurity, IT, or a related technical field required. * Foundational understanding of cybersecurity concepts (alerts, incidents, common attack types, EDR/SIEM tooling) desired. * Hands-on exposure to any SOC tooling, basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, switching, VLANs), or familiarity with video surveillance/access-control systems desired. * Working of alert triage and incident response required. * Working knowledge of EDR / SIEM tooling required. * General awareness of Network Security required. * General awareness of physical security / video surveillance systems. Location: Spokane, WA - On Site, Full-Time ## Description TheSecurity Operations Analystserves as the technical hub of our security operations, bridging cybersecurity and physical security technology. As a first-line responder, the role monitors and acts on alerts from cybersecurity tools (EDR, SIEM) and external threat-intelligence sources, escalating when needed. The role also owns the technical health of our physical security systems - maintaining and tuning camera and access-control technology so it reliably alerts our on-site security partners to potential incidents. The position begins with an emphasis on physical security technology (roughly 80%) and shifts over time toward cybersecurity operations (roughly 70%). *Alert Monitoring & First-Line Response:Serve as first-line response for cybersecurity alerts (EDR, SIEM) and external threat-intelligence notifications, triaging and acting on them per established response workflows and escalating when appropriate. *Physical Security Systems- Maintenance & Optimization: Maintain, configure, and tune the organization's physical security systems - including video surveillance and access-control features - so they reliably generate accurate, actionable alerts for the on-site security team. Work with the system vendor on implementation and ongoing improvements. *Become Security System Subject-Matter Expert:Act as the internal technical point of contact for physical access system questions, troubleshooting, and configuration, coordinating with vendors and the on-site security partner to ensure alerts are accurate and useful to their response efforts. *Threat Intelligence Triage:Review and act on notifications from the threat-intelligence vendor (e.g., external activity and social media anomalies) as first line, following defined runbooks and escalating significant findings. *Documentation & Coordination:Document incidents, configurations, and procedures to build out the security knowledge base.
