The role requires a hands-on architect with proven experience designing and implementing digital asset solutions within financial institutions, fintechs, or regulated payments environments. The architect will partner closely with business, product, technology, risk, compliance, and external providers to define scalable, secure, and compliant solution architectures for emerging digital asset use cases. * This role demands deep, hands-on experience in the digital assets space, specifically stablecoin-based payments, custodial flows, tokenized deposits, blockchain-enabled settlement, and regulated digital asset infrastructure. * The architect must work directly with U.S.-based business, technology, risk, compliance, and vendor stakeholders during onshore hours, including external providers such as Ripple, Stable core, custody platforms, payment networks, and tokenization solution providers. * Given the emerging and highly specialized nature of this domain, candidates with proven end-to-end implementation experience in financial institutions or fintech environments are extremely limited. * Initial hiring efforts through preferred vendors did not produce suitable profiles with practical, real-world implementation experience in stablecoins, tokenized deposits, or custodial digital asset flows. * A qualified candidate was ultimately identified through global AMA sourcing, where individuals with direct hands-on experience in this niche area were available., * Define and own end-to-end solution architecture for digital asset capabilities, including stablecoin payments, tokenized deposits, custodial flows, wallet integrations, ledger interactions, and settlement orchestration. * Translate business objectives and product requirements into scalable architecture designs, integration patterns, data flows, controls, and implementation roadmaps. * Partner with external providers and ecosystem participants such as Ripple, Stable core, custody platforms, blockchain infrastructure vendors, and payment partners to assess capabilities and define integration approaches. * Design secure and compliant architectures aligned to financial services requirements, including KYC, AML, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, auditability, operational resilience, and data protection. * Collaborate with enterprise architecture, cloud, cybersecurity, risk, compliance, legal, operations, and engineering teams to ensure solutions meet internal governance and regulatory expectations. * Evaluate blockchain networks, smart contract patterns, token lifecycle models, custody models, on-chain and off-chain reconciliation, and settlement mechanisms. * Support architecture reviews, vendor assessments, proof-of-concepts, technical due diligence, and implementation planning for digital asset use cases. * Provide technical leadership to delivery teams throughout design, build, testing, deployment, and production readiness activities. * Identify architectural risks, dependencies, technical debt, and control gaps; recommend mitigation strategies and practical implementation options. * Develop architecture artifacts, including solution blueprints, integration diagrams, sequence flows, API specifications, data models, security considerations, and non-functional requirements. ## Related Videos - [Pragmatic Blockchain Design Patterns: Integrating Blockchain into Business Processes](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1579-pragmatic-blockchain-design-patterns-integrating-blockchain-into-business-processes) - [Future-Proofing FinTech With Blockchain Technology](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/808-future-proofing-fintech-with-blockchain-technology) - [For the REST of us: API First and Conway’s Law](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1932-for-the-rest-of-us-api-first-and-conway-s-law) - [DevSecOps: Injecting Security into Mobile CI/CD Pipelines](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/273-devsecops-injecting-security-into-mobile-ci-cd-pipelines) - [Enabling automated 1-click customer deployments with built-in quality and security](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/83-enabling-automated-1-click-customer-deployments-with-built-in-quality-and-security) - [Next Level Enterprise Architecture: Modular, Flexible, Scalable, Multichannel and AI-Ready?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1017-next-level-enterprise-architecture-modular-flexible-scalable-multichannel-and-ai-ready) ## Related Articles - [From Hype to Code: Real Blockchain Use Cases for Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/620-from-hype-to-code-real-blockchain-use-cases-for-developers) - [Why Blockchain?
