## About the Role

* Have 5yrs of experience and a Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or another related field
 * Have experience working in a customer-facing or consulting role in technical presales/sales engineering/post-sales.
 * Demonstrate understanding of the internet, including but not limited to technologies like TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP(S), APIs etc.
 * Have experience or an interest in working with DevOps, Media or Internet Security
 * Have excellent written, verbal and presentation skills including communicating complex technical content to a range of audiences.
 * Be a team player, able to collaborate, prioritize, and solve problems in a fast changing environment

The team focuses on maintaining highest quality customer service and applying industry best practices to cutting-edge solutions.

In this role, you will leverage your technical expertise to find the best-fit solutions for prospects to support the long-term success of the customer. Collaborating with sales partners, you'll facilitate product adoption and account growth with a winning mindset for Akamai and our customers.

As a Solutions Engineer II, you will be responsible for:

 * Creating sales opportunities by managing the pre-sales technical process and demonstrating Akamai's technology to customers.
 * Managing the technical proposal process and ensuring all technical information and recommendations addressing customer requirements are accurate.
 * Tracking account activity for business analysis and reporting, designing technical solutions to meet our customer's needs.
 * Leading sales activities such as Technical Demos and Proof of Concepts (POC's).
 * Maximizing customer satisfaction based on the customer's needs and business requirements.
