 * Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Required

 * Secret Clearance-must be active
 * Security+ or Security X or CASP or Level II equivalent Information Assurance Technician Certification in compliance with DoW Directive 8140 Workforce Program, * Industry certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, RHCSA, or RHCE.

## Description

GDIT is seeking a skilled and experienced System Administrator to join our growing IT team. This mid-level position offers the opportunity to contribute to the maintenance and optimization of our critical IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of system administration principles, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT

 * Install, configure, and maintain servers, operating systems (Windows or Linux), applications, and hardware.
 * Proactively monitor system performance and identify potential issues.
 * Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems, escalating complex issues to senior staff when necessary.
 * Implement and maintain system security measures, including firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems.
 * Perform regular system backups and recovery procedures.
 * Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
 * Automate routine tasks using scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python).
 * Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
 * Collaborate with other IT teams on projects and initiatives.
 * Research and recommend new technologies and solutions to improve system performance and security.
 * Contribute to the development and maintenance of IT documentation and knowledge base articles.
