## About the Role

* Experience with Linux OS install, file system configuration, TCP/IP networking, configuration, operating system and application troubleshooting, BASH scripting, software compilation and install
 * Technical storage experience
 * Understanding of HPC architecture, knowledge of high-speed networks such as InfiniBand, Slingshot
 * Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Grafana, Prometheus, Nagios, Slurm, git, Salt, Ansible
 * Proven troubleshooting skills - each system is slightly different and there's no "one fix" for a particular problem
 * Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline
 * Minimum five (5) years of demonstratable system administration experience or ten (10) years minimum experience in lieu of degree.
 * DoD 8570 IAT II level certification.

## Description

* Configure, maintain, and advance Linux and Unix operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoot, maintain integrity of and configure network components, along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
 * Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems and storage.
 * Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems
 * Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client storage/network devices.
 * Demonstrate superior communication, contribute to team efficiency, and work towards solutions
 * Optimize system operations and resource utilization, and perform system capacity analysis and planning
