During the interview, you’ll be assessed against the experience criteria listed under both the essential criteria and technical skill. You will be asked to do a 10-minute presentation on the following topic: Please describe how you have embedded the concepts of data strategy, sharing and ownership within a complex multi-layered organisation. There will be a further 5 minutes for questions. The use of visual aids such as PowerPoint will be allowed. The Data Lead is responsible for managing and developing the data needs of DWP’s Working Age Services (WAS). You will be responsible for developing multidisciplinary data capability across WAS, identifying capability needs and championing its implementation with both data and wider digital staff and stakeholders. You will support WAS by providing expert guidance on the value of data in achieving priority outcomes based on your technical expertise. This is an exciting time for WAS Data as DWP moves to adopt a ‘hub & spoke’ approach, and this role will be key to the success of this transition., * Establishing and leading a core team of data professionals to implement DWP’s Data strategy within WAS. Identifying gaps in existing data capability (people, products & practices) and developing and implementing a programme of work to address these. You will directly line manage members of the core team and have a matrix management approach leading many others. * Working alongside a G6 Lead Data Scientist and G6 Lead Delivery Manager for data to provide overall leadership of data activity in WAS. * In support of WAS outcomes, driving forward the implementation, compliance and assurance with the overall DWP data strategy in WAS and being the lead point of collaboration. * Working with senior colleagues in WAS and wider DWP to agree WAS data needs and ensure these are continuously supported. * Accountable for data related communications and upskilling across WAS., Ensure that all examples provided in your statements are taken directly from your own experience and that you describe the examples in your own words.
