## About the Role

Microchip's Frequency and Timing Systems (FTS) Business Unit provides precise timing and synchronization solutions for telecom, wireless, military, scientific, and enterprise systems. We are seeking an entry-level Software Engineer to join our Santa Rosa engineering team. This role is well suited for a recent college graduate or an early-career software engineer with 0-2.5 years of experience who is interested in developing embedded software for high-precision frequency and timing systems., * Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

 * 0-2.5 years of relevant software engineering experience, including coursework, internships, projects, or professional experience.
 * Successful completion of core electrical engineering and computer science coursework.
 * Working knowledge of C and C++ gained through coursework, projects, internships, or related experience.
 * Good understanding of data structures and encapsulated software design.
 * Understanding of basic data analysis principles.
 * Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

 * General understanding of the product development process and design controls.
 * Understanding of computer networks and TCP/IP communication protocols.
 * Strong organizational and time-management skills.
 * Understanding of ML/AI concepts
 * Experience using AI tools for software development.

## Description

* Develop, debug, and test embedded software for precise frequency and timing systems.
 * Participate in software module design with a focus on efficiency, reliability, and reusability.
 * Learn and apply precise frequency and timing concepts.
 * Build knowledge of communication networks and frequency and timing communication protocols.
 * Collaborate with project managers, software engineers, and hardware engineers to support successful product development.
 * Partner with system testing teams to analyze, identify, and resolve software defects.
