 + Hands-on experience with Perl for scripting, system utilities, or legacy app maintenance

 + Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)

 + Experience with ETL, data pipelines, or batch processing

 + Experience with version control (Git/Subversion) and CI/CD pipelines

 + Familiarity with legacy system migration projects - Preferred - 5 years

## Description

The client is seeking a versatile Application Systems Java Developer to develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise applications, backend services, automation tools, and legacy system integrations within the Office of the Client Chief Medical Examiner. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, full-stack development capabilities, and an ability to work across modern and legacy technologies., + Develop and maintain backend applications and services using Java, Python, and Perl

 + Build RESTful APIs, microservices, and integration points with internal and external systems

 + Modernize and refactor existing Perl-based or legacy applications into modern architectures

 + Create automation scripts, system tools, and scheduled jobs to support IT operations

 + Write clean, efficient, and scalable code following best practices and coding standards

 + Design and implement SQL queries, stored procedures, and data-processing workflows

 + Participate in architecture discussions, technical design sessions, and sprint planning

 + Debug and resolve complex issues across multiple languages and platforms

 + Deploy applications to cloud or on premise environments (Azure, AWS, GCP, Linux/Unix)

 + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions

 + Maintain documentation for systems, integrations, and processes
