This role will be responsible for protecting our organization's systems, networks, and data from cyber threats. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about staying ahead of evolving security risks., * Monitor, detect, and respond to security incidents and threats * Conduct vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation efforts * Help manage security tools (e.g., SIEM, MXDR, firewalls, IDS/IPS) * Analyze security logs and alerts to identify suspicious activity * Assist with incident response, investigation, and root cause analysis * Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures * Support security awareness training for employees * Perform risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies * Coordinate pentests and tabletop exercises, and provide regular security reviews * Ensure compliance with relevant frameworks and regulations (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2) * Collaborate with IT, DevOps, and engineering teams to improve overall security posture, Work will normally be performed in an office and laboratory environment and around technical equipment including computers and lasers. Able to sit, stand, bend, lift and carry up to 40 pounds without assistance. Able to efficiently use automated office equipment such as laptops, copiers, and printers; able to effectively engage in communications (via phone, computer, or in-person).
