Agent guide: [/agents.md](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/agents.md). --- # Manager of Construction, Data Center Construction in New Florence - **Company:** Energy Jobline - **Location:** New Florence, MO, United States - **Experience:** Experienced - **Salary:** $153,200.0 - $254,500.0 - **Contract:** Permanent contract - **Skills:** Amazon Web Services, Applicant Tracking Systems, Data Centers, System Testing - **Published:** July 11, 2026 - **Apply:** https://www.energyjobline.com/job/manager-construction-data-center-construction-new-florence-31244180 ## About the Role BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 2+ years of management experience - 4+ years of general contractor and vendor management work (request for proposals, bidding, change orders, quality control, RFI/submittal tracking) associated with construction and project execution experience - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field - Knowledge of the electrical and mechanical systems involved in critical data center operations including systems such as feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, ATS units, PDU units, chillers, pumps, air handling units, and CRAC units - Experience in management - Experience as a general contractor and in vendor management (request for proposals, bidding, change orders, quality control, RFI/submittal tracking) associated with construction and project execution - Experience hiring, developing, and managing high-performing technical teams QUALIFICATIONS- Knowledge of building codes and regulations including Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, and OSHA - Experience owning the operation of a mission-critical team or product - Experience with large-scale technical operations or large-scale compute farms - Experience with process improvement techniques such as Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma ## Description * Be Amazon's construction representative on multiple data centers building and capital improvement construction project sites from construction start through hand-off to operations. * Direct interface with construction general contractors during the construction bidding, award, execution, punch-list, and closeout phases. * Create construction project Scope of Work (SOW) and Request for Proposals (RFP). * Conduct negotiations with general contractors and evaluate bids and proposals with detail and accuracy. * Manage and drive cost, schedule, and quality while managing construction contractors and vendors. * Perform construction project management activities, including management of documents, submittals, RFIs, change orders, invoices, quality, scope, and schedule. * Drive construction teams to troubleshoot and perform root-cause failure analysis on equipment failures. * Support commissioning and integrated system testing and oversight. * Support operations of installed facilities, including review of procedures, best practices, and maintenance initiatives. * Support capital request creation. * Analyze and report construction progress and financials. * Record and report key construction metrics to team members and management. * Contribute to construction initiatives aimed at improving construction efficiency and increasing data center resiliency. * Provide constructability reviews for civil, structural, electrical and mechanical designs for new or optimization of existing data centers. * Be a leader within the group, and within internal and external data center support teams. A day in the life Manage the day to day responsibilities of the CM team, engage with other internal AWS managers and team members.
