Certification required. Skill & Certification Requirements * CAT 3, 5, 5E and 6 wiring * Cisco Software and Routing * Comp TIA Security+ Certification required. * Computer skills; TMS, CVC, CAIRS, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office Suite. * Confined Space Certification required. * Experience with Routers, Switches and HUBs, operation and maintenance of the base Voice Switching System (VSS) with the latest software version. * Experience in set-up and the installations of telecom closets, but not limited to installation of rack equipment, ladder rack, cable management hardware, terminations and verification of premise wiring. * Able to establish implementation plans for PBX/Voice Mail installations. * Inside/Outside Plant * Familiar with GPS technology. * Proficient in troubleshooting techniques. * Able to attain confined space certification, and experience working in confined spaces (manholes) preferred. * Not required to lift more than 50lbs. * Position requires sitting, standing, and keeling for long periods of time. (Heavy Work) * LCI is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled ## Description The Telecommunications Switch Technician will provide operation and maintenance (O&M) support for the Base Telephone System and cable plant at Dover AFB, DE. Service support includes but is not limited to the following: Customer Service (telephone), Switchboard Operations, Inside Plant, and Outside Plant (Cable). Administer projects from start to finish, ensuring that BTS installation jobs are completed on time and within budget., * Knowledge of telecommunications industry services, solutions and trends. * Operate and maintain the base Voice Switching System (VSS) IAW Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) procedures. * Strong and effective written and verbal communication skills coupled with excellent interpersonal and team skills. Excellent leadership and management skills. * Must be able to read and interrupt blueprints, engineering specifications for telecommunications voice and data requirements.
