This role ensures that the platform ecosystem-including data ingestion, processing, governance, and access-is architected to meet current and future business needs while aligning with Enterprise Technology Strategy. Operating within Enterprise Data & Analytics (EDA) and aligned to the Enterprise Architecture (EA) domain, the Platform Architect V leads platform direction through proposal-driven architecture, influences cross-functional decisions, and enables engineering teams through clear architectural patterns, guardrails, and reference implementations. This role partners closely with Product Architects (particularly AI-focused roles) in a two-in-a-box model, where the Platform Architect owns platform architecture and system design, while Product Architects own use case definition and business outcomes. Success will be measured by increased adoption of the Enterprise Data Platform, reduced platform fragmentation, improved delivery velocity, and enhanced platform stability. Key Responsibilities * Define Platform Architecture: Lead the design and evolution of the Enterprise Data Platform (EDP), establishing standards, integration patterns, and ensuring system interoperability. * Drive Modernization: Guide platform evolution, improving scalability, reducing technical debt, and shaping technology lifecycle and adoption. * Enable Engineering Teams: Provide technical leadership through reference architectures, reusable patterns, and architectural guardrails; mentor engineering teams. * Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner closely with Product Architects and collaborate across engineering and data teams to align platform and product outcomes. * Promote Adoption & Standardization: Drive consistent platform usage, influencing teams to adopt standardized solutions and reduce fragmentation. * Ensure Governance & Risk Alignment: Align platform architecture with security, compliance, and governance requirements; proactively identify and mitigate risks. * Align with Enterprise Architecture: Ensure consistency with enterprise standards and represent the platform in architecture forums. ## Related Videos - [Next Level Enterprise Architecture: Modular, Flexible, Scalable, Multichannel and AI-Ready?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1017-next-level-enterprise-architecture-modular-flexible-scalable-multichannel-and-ai-ready) - [How to Benchmark Your Apache Kafka](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/76-how-to-benchmark-your-apache-kafka) - [Cutting LLM Costs Without Cutting Quality: How to Beat Proprietary LLMs with Fine-Tuned Open Source](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100151-cutting-llm-costs-without-cutting-quality-how-to-beat-proprietary-llms-with-fine-tuned-open-source) - [Inside Bitpanda's Tech Stack: Scaling a European Fintech Leader - Markus Dorner](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1979-inside-bitpanda-s-tech-stack-scaling-a-european-fintech-leader-markus-dorner) - [Let's Get Started With Apache Kafka® for Python Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/565-let-s-get-started-with-apache-kafka-for-python-developers) - [OLTP in the Lakehouse: Redefining Data for AI Workloads](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/2038-oltp-in-the-lakehouse-redefining-data-for-ai-workloads) ## Related Articles - [Highest Paying Tech Companies for Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/220-highest-paying-tech-companies-for-developers) - [What Are The Top Skills Required For Azure Developers?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/77-what-are-the-top-skills-required-for-azure-developers) - [Navigating the AI Shift](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/629-navigating-the-ai-shift) - [Coffee with Developers - Maria Apazoglou - Making AI understandable for all in production](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/475-coffee-with-developers-maria-apazoglou-making-ai-understandable-for-all-in-production) - [What Makes WeAreDevelopers World Congress Different From Every Other Tech Event?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/701-what-makes-wearedevelopers-world-congress-different-from-every-other-tech-event) - [Where To Find Software Engineering Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/396-where-to-find-software-engineering-jobs)
