The Systems Engineer II researches, implements, operates, and secures systems that support enterprise infrastructure and information security. This role performs system architecture and design, system administration, and system security - building and maintaining servers and integrating departmental systems to meet business requirements., System Architecture * Designs and architects systems and applications that support enterprise infrastructure and information security. * Performs architecture and design of new systems and applications. * Gathers business requirements and plans the implementation of institution's applications and infrastructure. * Supports product evaluation and qualification of new technology and methodology to make recommendations. System Engineering * Builds and maintains the department's applications and infrastructure to meet business requirements and secure standard operating system software. * Monitors systems and applications for performance and uptime and makes configuration changes to achieve service level targets. * Supports secure configurations as appropriate for systems and applications, including file transfer processes (SFTP, SSL) and web server configuration and operations. * Maintains day to day operations and security updates of systems and applications. Administrative * Supports unit governance and documentation. * Provides input on new policies and standards within operating units. * Creates and maintains up-to-date documentation on system configuration.
