## About the Role

* Completed scientific university studies (masters degree or equivalent), in particular in the subject mechanical engineering, process engineering or other relevant disciplines
 * Desired knowledge and personal skills
 * Expertise in thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics
 * Good experiences in system simulation or (and) CFD simulation
 * Solid knowledge in energy systems
 * Excellent communication skills in English and (or) German
 * The ability to work independently within an interdisciplinary research team

## Description

* Simulations of the transient charge/discharge processes of packed bed storage systems
 * Second-law-analysis of the simulation results to understand the loss mechanisms
 * Development of an inverse design model
 * Publishing research in peer-reviewed journals and present results at international conferences
 * Contribute to the Institute beyond the dedicated project work
