The ideal candidate is a senior-level engineer who can adapt quickly to shifting priorities, work across legacy and modern technologies, and contribute to large-scale data processing, machine learning, and generative AI initiatives. Responsibilities * Develop and maintain backend services using Java (7/8, migrating to Java 21) and Spring Boot. * Design, build, and enhance API-driven applications with a focus on scalable microservices architecture. * Develop and integrate AI-powered capabilities, including Generative AI, large language models (LLMs), and intelligent automation solutions. * Partner with business and technical stakeholders to identify AI use cases and implement production-ready solutions. * Build and optimize data pipelines supporting AI/ML workloads and large-scale batch processing. * Design and implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures and AI orchestration workflows where appropriate. * Leverage cloud-native AI services and frameworks within GCP, Azure, or AWS environments. Must be able to work onsite 3 days per week in Hartford, CT.
