Operating within a mutli-org Salesforce estate, our specialised technology delivery squad plays a pivotal role in adapting to CAP's evolving requirements, crafting solutions, and empowering our staff and partner churches to leverage opportunities within a dynamic technological landscape. Rather than running a basic tracking database, we engineer an interconnected, multi-cloud platform that serves as our core, mission-critical debt solution system, operating under strict FCA regulatory oversight, alongside solutions for HR, donor, volunteer, and partnership management. In line with enterprise software delivery structures, this environment demands a highly disciplined approach to platform sustainability, data security, and continuous innovation., As Senior Salesforce Administrator, you will play a leading role in the strategic configuration, customisation, governance, and maintenance of our enterprise Salesforce platform. Operating as a senior presence within our specialised technology squad, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including the Solution Architect and Business Analysts, to understand complex business requirements and translate them into highly secure, effective Salesforce solutions. You will actively champion platform integrity, oversee environment release strategies, and partner with the Solution Architect to eliminate systemic technical debt across declarative streams. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical acumen, exceptional problem-solving skills, an ability to manage significant configuration projects, and a passion for technical governance, tech leadership, and building forward., * Lead the technical design, configuration, and governance of complex, secure, and scalable Salesforce declarative solutions (Advanced Flows, Sharing Architecture, Lightning Pages, and User Management), keeping everything well-documented and in line with industry best practices. * Establish and enforce declarative best practices and governance frameworks, serving as the final approval authority for complex configuration enhancements and standard tool adoptions proposed by the administration team. * Accountable for global environment strategy and data security frameworks (least privilege models), leading the cross-functional orchestration of major platform upgrades and data governance protocols. * Make practical, strategic recommendations alongside the Development Manager, Senior Developer and Salesforce Solutions Architect to the Head of Technology on new tooling, AppExchange products, architectural improvements, and Agile delivery approaches. * Collaborate closely with the Senior Salesforce Developer and Salesforce Developers to uphold a declarative-first approach, providing expert guidance on standard platform capabilities, identifying when custom code (Apex/LWC) is truly required, and ensuring best practice adherence across the delivery squad. * Govern and lead the declarative release cycle within the squad's source-driven ALM process; orchestrate sandbox environment synchronisation, validate metadata deployment integrity, and resolve complex configuration conflicts using modern CI/CD tools linked to a centralised Git version control repository. * Oversee functional configuration testing, coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and manage sandbox lifecycles, partnering with the Release Manager to ensure frequent, high-quality, and stable deployments within sprint cycles. * Take ownership of significant, delegated configuration projects from scoping to release, managing scope, estimates, and delivery to a high standard, giving stakeholders complete confidence in completion. * Effectively manage user profiles, permission sets, roles, and sharing settings, acting as a strict guardian of data security by ensuring the principle of least privilege is rigorously followed. * Ensure regulatory compliance & integrity for all configuration on the debt help system and fundraising systems, strictly adhering to FCA regulatory requirements where required and agreed quality standards. * Design and implement configuration solutions that optimise the utilisation, security, health, and performance of the Salesforce platform. * Prioritise user experience by designing and implementing configuration solutions that simplify workflows and maximise the efficiency of all system users (Local CAP Workers, Support Hub Staff). * Act as a technical lead during major platform incident responses when appropriate, guiding the younger admin team through technical triage and participating openly in blameless post-mortems to embed continuous learning. * Effectively coordinate with external consultancies and suppliers, taking accountability for robust knowledge transfer back into the internal administration team. * Working with the Development Manager, guide, encourage, and inspire the administration team within an Agile environment. Lead by example to foster a healthy, celebratory team culture, motivating team members to strive for configuration and declarative excellence. * Drive the continuous professional growth of the squad through strategic technical mentorship, setting global engineering/configuration standards, and leading advanced peer architecture reviews to elevate collective capability. * Accelerate knowledge transfer and protect platform quality by actively engaging in regular pair and mob administration sessions to support, upskill, and guide less experienced administrators. * Actively contribute to team ceremonies, leading them where necessary to establish a smooth, regular, and predictable pattern of work for the administration team. Measurable outputs: * Maintain a defined high average configuration quality (e.g. low technical debt in Flows, clean documentation, strict security compliance). * Regularly achieve a target on-time completion rate for committed sprint work, demonstrating a predictable, reliable, and well-delegated delivery rhythm. * Through smart declarative design and automations, achieve a measurable improvement in the cycle time of critical, high-volume processes, aligning with the 'lean by design' objective of CAP. * Consistently provide high-quality, actionable configuration and platform insights during sprint planning and backlog grooming sessions, as evidenced by low rates of technical rework and positive stakeholder feedback. * Ensure configuration security vulnerabilities are addressed within 5 working days, and major platform incidents are triaged in less than 4 working hours. * Minimise the impact of major incidents through proactive root cause analysis and rapid remediation, achieving a measurable reduction in Mean Time to Recovery (MTTR) for critical platform outages. * Achieve target adoption rates and positive internal satisfaction scores for features designed to simplify the operational tasks of Local CAP Workers. * Regularly contribute to and lead pair/mob configuration sessions, work reviews, and technical training sessions to verifiably elevate the junior team's capability. * Complete a minimum of 9 self-led training sessions and contribute to at least 3 team training sessions or user groups annually to stay current on evolving Salesforce technologies., * Encouraging friends, family and other contacts to support the charity through the Life Changer programme and other fundraising initiatives. * Attending annual CAP staff conferences and team revive days. * Completing all compulsory CAP training within given timescales. * This role falls within the scope of the FCA's conduct rules, and you will be provided with training as to how these apply to the role.
