Operating within a mutli-org Salesforce estate, our specialised technology delivery squad plays a pivotal role in adapting to CAP's evolving requirements, crafting solutions, and empowering our staff and partner churches to leverage opportunities within a dynamic technological landscape. Rather than running a basic tracking database, we engineer an interconnected, multi-cloud platform that serves as our core, mission-critical debt solution system, operating under strict FCA regulatory oversight, alongside solutions for HR, donor, volunteer, and partnership management. In line with enterprise software delivery structures, this environment demands a highly disciplined approach to platform sustainability, data security, and continuous innovation., As Salesforce Developer, you will play a key role in the programmatic engineering, customisation, integration, and maintenance of our enterprise Salesforce platform. Operating as a core software engineer within our specialised technology squad, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including the Solution Architect and Business Analysts, to understand business requirements and translate them into performant, secure Salesforce solutions. You will focus on executing clean, test-driven code (Apex, LWCs) within a source-driven development pipeline, ensuring a sustainable balance between custom builds and declarative features while minimising technical debt. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical acumen, excellent problem-solving skills, a track record of standalone coding execution, and a passion for software engineering excellence, tech leadership, and building forward., * Write clean, efficient code that optimises the performance and utilisation of the Salesforce platform. * Operate within the boundaries of the platform's core architecture while actively driving continuous improvement by recommending technical changes, code refactoring, and the proactive introduction of new tech capabilities. * Author and maintain clear, structured technical documentation, including schema maps and code annotations, to keep the custom codebase transparent and maintainable for the entire squad. * Lead the programmatic execution of assigned technical areas and integration streams, collaborating directly on sprint stories with Salesforce Administrators or self-managing standalone coding projects. * Drive the end-to-end delivery of assigned technical tasks and integration streams, proactively managing scope, estimates, and execution to a high standard to give stakeholders absolute confidence. * Build out programmatic error-handling, logging, and retry frameworks for assigned API integrations to ensure connection and data sync failures are gracefully managed. * Collaborate proactively with Salesforce Administrators to consult on and establish the optimum balance between declarative configuration and custom programmatic development, protecting platform sustainability. * Design and build reusable programmatic elements, such as Apex Invocable Methods and configurable Lightning Web Components, explicitly architectured to extend the capabilities of Salesforce Administrators within Flow Builder. * Deliver scalable programmatic components within the squad's source-driven ALM process; independently manage code-level feature branches, resolve programmatic merge conflicts, and ensure code validation via automated unit testing gates prior to merging into the centralised Git version control repository. * Oversee and execute comprehensive unit, system, and integration testing to ensure frequent, high-quality code deployments within sprint cycles. * Actively participate in peer configuration and code reviews within the sprint cycle, ensuring alignment with defined squad standards, formatting, and security guardrails. * Partner with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and the wider delivery team to ensure tickets are accurately implemented within a predictable pattern of work. * Embrace and actively participate in Agile and Lean methodologies to ensure efficiency and a short time to deliver change. * Prioritise user experience by designing and implementing solutions that simplify workflows and maximise the efficiency of all users of the systems (Local CAP Workers, Support Hub Staff). * When required, ensure regulatory compliance & integrity for all development on the debt help system and fundraising systems, adhering to FCA regulatory requirements, when required, and agreed quality standards. Measurable outputs: * Maintain a defined high average code quality, ensuring low technical debt and low bug density. * Regularly achieve a target on-time completion rate for committed sprint work, demonstrating a reliable delivery rhythm. * Contribute to smart designs and features that achieve a measurable improvement in the cycle time of critical, high-volume processes. * Provide high-quality, actionable technical input during sprint planning and backlog grooming, resulting in low rates of technical rework. * Support features that achieve a target adoption rate and a positive internal satisfaction score from Local CAP Workers. * Take proactive responsibility and action during major incidents. * Complete a minimum of 9 self-led training sessions and contribute to at least 3 team training sessions annually to stay current on evolving Salesforce technologies.
