Agent guide: [/agents.md](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/agents.md). --- # AFRICOM Enterprise Comms & Mission Systems Engineer - **Company:** The MITRE Corporation - **Location:** Stuttgart, Germany - **Experience:** Expert - **Salary:** €146,400.0 - €183,000.0 - **Contract:** Permanent contract - **Skills:** Systems Engineering, Identity and Access Management, Network Architecture, Systems Integration, SC Clearance, Information Technology, Cyber Warfare - **Published:** August 4, 2026 - **Apply:** https://de.indeed.com/viewjob?jk=5aaee9b16f5a0b10 ## About the Role * Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years with a Master's degree; or 3 years with a PhD; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. * Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, such as Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Manufacturing, Computer), Physics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related fields * Significant experience with implementation of enterprise communications solutions, cyber defense principles, and mission architectures. * Experience providing systems engineering analysis for systems and capabilities in areas such as (but not limited to) planning, integration, mission analysis, requirements analysis, command and control requirements, and dependencies. * Ability to partner closely with non-MITRE developers, SETA teammates, and acquisition representatives * Ability to identify operational and engineering challenges, potential solutions, and communicate project goals and impacts clearly and effectively. * Demonstrated previous team leadership experience * Prior experience with US Department of War systems of systems integration * Active DoW Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI access * Per the U.S. Government's eligibility requirements for a clearance, U.S. Citizenship is required. * This position has an on-site requirement of 5 days a week on-site, * Master's degree in a related field (e.g. enterprise communications, network architectures) * Experience in Combatant Command operations and the joint warfighter environment * Experience with Combatant Command capability development and/or operations * Five years' experience in Command and Control processes, architectures, and systems. * Familiarity with CCMD Mission Systems * Effective and influential oral communications skills * Strong written communications skills * Active TS/SCI security clearance * NATO Secret clearance ## Description Demonstrate strong familiarity and skill in one or more of the following areas: * Lead the design and integration of enterprise communications, mission system architectures, and enterprise services across military organizations to support mission requirements. * Apply technical expertise in network architectures, identity management, enterprise networking, and distributed/edge architectures to develop and sustain secure, scalable solutions. * Assess current operational capabilities and scheduled enterprise service offerings, identify shortfalls that could result in mission impact or degradation, and recommend solutions to mitigate risks. * Provide systems engineering analysis for systems and capabilities related to planning, integration, mission analysis, requirements analysis, command and control requirements, and operational dependencies. * Implement enterprise communications solutions, apply cyber defense principles, and enhance mission architectures to improve resilience, security, and operational effectiveness. Interpersonal skills * Be a proactive team member and partner closely to support team leadership and staff in task execution * Present information to both senior military leaders and action officers. * Identify operational and engineering challenges, potential solutions, and communicate project goals and impacts clearly and effectively. Collaboration * Work within a team environment that leverages a robust network of MITRE and other professional connections to engage and collaborate with engineers and planners, subject matter experts, international program (foreign military sales) specialists, and defense acquisition professionals. * Leverage a pipeline of remote and local MITRE technical expertise, capabilities from the MITRE Platforms, and transitioned IR&D into project delivery when appropriate. * Partner closely with non-MITRE developers, SETA teammates, and acquisition representatives Flexibility * Modify and alter course as the environment and sponsor priorities shift.
