In this role, you will perform rigorous manual and automated accessibility testing, identify compliance gaps, provide actionable remediation guidance to software developers and content creators, and assist in drafting accessibility documentation (including VPATs). You will serve as a key subject matter expert driving accessibility best practices across design, development, and delivery teams in support of government programs., * Conduct thorough automated and manual accessibility testing on web applications, mobile apps, desktop software, and electronic documents (PDF, Word, PowerPoint, Excel). * Test digital assets using leading assistive technologies (AT), including screen readers (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack), screen magnifiers (ZoomText), speech recognition software (Dragon), and keyboard-only navigation. * Identify, document, and track accessibility bugs using issue-tracking platforms (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps), providing detailed steps to reproduce and clear compliance references., * Provide hands-on remediation guidance to front-end developers, UX/UI designers, and content authors to resolve complex accessibility barriers (e.g., ARIA attributes, semantic HTML, focus management, color contrast, dynamic content). * Remediate digital files and documents (specifically complex PDFs, forms, and multimedia content) to ensure full compliance with Section 508 standards. * Conduct code reviews and audit accessibility trees, DOM structures, and design components within design systems. Compliance Reporting & Governance * Draft and maintain Voluntary Product Accessibility Templates (VPAT 2.4/INT or Revised Section 508 Edition) and Accessibility Conformance Reports (ACRs). * Maintain test cases, compliance matrices, and remediation logs for internal audits and client-facing deliverables. * Stay up to date on evolving federal accessibility regulations, Section 508 refreshed guidelines, WCAG updates, and industry tools.
