## About the Role

A growing organization is seeking an experienced Accounting Specialist to support cash applications, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general accounting activities. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong attention to detail who enjoys working with financial data, resolving discrepancies, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders., * Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent accounting experience considered.

 * 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably with cash applications, AR, or reconciliations.
 * Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
 * Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and accountability.
 * Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
 * Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
 * Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

## Description

* Accurately apply check and ACH payments to open receivable balances and maintain accurate cash records.
 * Prepare daily cash receipts and deposits and research discrepancies between cash received and amounts due.
 * Investigate and resolve reconciling cash items and aged accounts receivable balances.
 * Communicate with internal and external contacts to resolve payment and account-related questions.
 * Maintain appropriate documentation and controls related to cash application and accounting processes.
 * Prepare journal entries in accordance with GAAP.
 * Review AR aging reports and provide commentary on outstanding and aged items.
 * Process authorized customer ACH/direct debit payments through banking platforms.
 * Assist with system upgrades, testing, and implementation projects as needed.
